Stanton Longenecker MD, is dedicated to providing exceptional orthopaedic care to each patient. He has devoted his life to the delivery of general and specialized orthopaedics and the restoration of the musculoskeletal system through non-invasive, minimally invasive and complex surgeries.
Board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (AAOS), Dr. Longenecker’s sports medicine expertise in treating the musculoskeletal issues and trauma injuries is evident. He is highly respected “on the field” at high schools, colleges and universities, where he provides expert sports medicine care to athletes, as well as “in the office”, where the weekend warriors are first to call on Monday mornings. Trained as an engineer at Tulane University School of Engineering, he completed medical school and residency at Tulane University School of Medicine. He obtained a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the world-renowned Hughston Clinic (Columbus, GA). Also, it is noteworthy that Dr. Longenecker was a design consultant for Zimmer’s new Gender Flex knee replacement device.
Joint Pain Relief. For more than 25 years, Dr. Longenecker has performed thousands of successful surgeries – his patients and their families are his best referral. His engineering background is beneficial to his surgical expertise in joint replacement surgery, and it enhances his ability to allow for bone to naturally integrate with the total joints he uses to relieve your pain.
Sports Medicine Expert. Dr. Longenecker raised his family in Jacksonville, and is a vibrant part of and leader in the sports medicine community. He has been a valued “team physician” through the years, and is known for his volunteer support of many community sports events.
Community Volunteer. For years, Dr. Longenecker has given back to his community. His volunteer service is exemplified by years of service at WeCare, an organization dedicated to helping others in need of medical services.
